Naima Adedapo returns to Milwaukee Tuesday

Naima Adedapo, the Milwaukee singer and dancer voted off "American Idol" last week, is coming home 8 p.m. Tuesday to the welcoming arms of family, friends and fans.
"We are going to have a celebration and let her know how much we love her and miss her," said Adekola Adedapo, her mother. "The outpouring of support from this city has been absolutely amazing."
Naima Adedapo's family has arranged to have banners, African drums and flowers to cheer the return of Milwaukee's "exotic flower," which is the translation of her name. Adekola Adedapo said Naima Adedapo will likely need a few days to relax with family after the rigors of the "Idol" schedule of practicing, performing and promotional events for the show.
"They work very hard, and I know Naima is looking forward to spending more time with her babies," Adekola Adedapo said. "It's been an amazing opportunity and experience for her."
Adekola Adedapo said an official, full-blown celebration for her daughter's return is still in the works, and the family is talking with several sizable venues. They promise more details as developments unfold.
"I will miss not seeing her on the show every week, but these things happen, and they tend to work out for the best," Adekola Adedapo said. "This has been wonderful exposure for Naima, and she will be able to build a great career out of what comes next."
