American Idol 10 Top 8 – What Should the Idols Sing?

It’s movie night on Idol this week. It’s a theme that’s been done before including last year, when iTunes was posting (crappy) lists of possible song choices.
Dear God:  Please no Aerosmith. PLEASE NO “FALLING SLOWLY”. With Pia gone, I don’t have to pray for the absence of Whitney Houston. Yay Jeebus.
Here are my picks after the jump.  What are yours? Another rather dated list HERE. And a semi-hip list HERE and HERE.
  • Paul McDonald – “Everybody’s Talkin’” by Harry Nilson from Midnight Cowboyor “Stuck in the Middle with You” by Stealers Wheel – Reservoir Dogs
  • Lauren Alaina – “Country Strong” by Gwyneth Paltrow – Country Strong
  • Casey Abrams – Casey tweeted that his pick is “jazzy” so I pick “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s
  • Stefano Langone – “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King – Stand By Me
  • Jacob Lusk – “Purple Rain” – Prince & the Revolution – Purple Rain
  • Scotty McCreery – “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow” by Soggy Bottom Boys –Oh Brother Where Art Thou or “Ole Man River” from Showboat
  • Haley Reinhart – “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (a semi-joke) or “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by the Rolling Stones – The Big Chill
  • James Durbin – “Time For Miracles” j/k – “Into the Wild” by Eddie Vedder –Into the Wild
