Remember the theme is Elton John. Here’s what I think SHOULD happen

James Durbin- Your Song (he doesn’t do a lot of ballads, and it might be nice to see him do a slower song)

Naima Adedapo- Circle Of Life (she keeps loving the african stuff…)

Paul McDonald- Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (Totally up his alley)

Haley Reinhart- Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing (I had a hard time choosing her song…)

Scotty McCreery- Tiny Dancer (the country cover, of course)

Pia Toscano- Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (Uptempo)

Jacob Lusk- Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me (It’s sort of Gospel)

Thia Megia- Candle In The Wind (more boring Thiabot dreck)

Casey Abrams- Something About The Way You Look Tonight (bring sexy back)

Lauren Alaina- Written in The Stars (Leann Rimes joined Elton for the duet… if they can cut a solo out of it…)

Jennifer Hudson Loves Los Angeles

Jennifer Hudson is all smiles and poses for the cameras before leaving in a waiting limo on Wednesday (March 23) in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old singer performed her new single, “Where You At” onAmerican Idol on Thursday night.

Jennifer recently talked about the emotional and physical transformation she has gone through lately. “Oh my god! It’s like a new me. It’s like a new introduction of myself — for myself and to others as well — in every way, from image to music to everything,” she toldMTV. “And it’s like, in a way, for me I’m rediscovering myself at the same time. I like the old me too … if I could just marry the two together, then I feel like I’m in good shape.”

David Archuleta – National Anthem – Royal Purple 300 Nascar

David Archuleta performed a beautiful version of the National Anthem today in Fullerton CA at the NASCAR Royal Purple 300 car race.

And as a super-special bonus, check out a VLOG by David recorded before race time.

I wonder if David got to meet Molly Ringwald? She was the honorary race starter today. Hee.

Casey Abrams Had Another Blood Transfusion On Thursday Reports TMZ

TMZ is reporting that Casey Abrams had another blood transfusion on Thursday morning:

“American Idol” contestant Casey Abrams — who got voted off the show Thursday and won a save from the judges — was so overwrought with emotion after the show, he began hyperventilating and then fell to the floor in the hallway.

We’re told “A.I.” staffers helped Casey up and put him in a chair so he could calm down.

Ironically, his song choice Thursday was “I Don’t Need No Doctor.”

Our “Idol” spies tell us … Casey felt horrible that the judges used their save for him, saying “I feel really bad that other [contestants] might have to go home now because they [the judges] used the save on me.”

Casey had a rough day Thursday.  He got a blood transfusion in the morning because of ongoing problems with internal bleeding.

The Top 11 tour will be hectic, but less stressful. Maybe once he’s off the show he’ll be able to get his health back on track. The save seems to be a mixed blessing for him.

Idol Made the Decision to Tour the Top 11 Before The Save

19 Entertainment president Iain Pirie tells USA Today that a decision to include the Top 11 on the summer tour  was made separately from last night’s save of Casey Abrams. In fact, he swears it had nothing to do with the save, at all:

“It was actually totally unconnected,” Pirie says. “Any of them could have been in the bottom. Whether that person was saved or not saved, we made the decision that we wanted to tour these 11 kids and make an exception this year and really celebrate the strength of this cast.”

Pirie says the decision was made very recently, but before the results of this week’s audience voting was known. “The decision was really based on our genuine enthusiasm for how this season is evolving and the quality of talent we’ve been able to find.”

The Grassy Knoller in me is going Hmmm… So…even if Haley Reinhart or Naima Adedapo–two frequent bottom-dwellers–had been eliminated last night, Idol producers would have been willing to bear the extra expense to take them along on tour this summer? Particularly after last year’s outing lost money?

I’m having a hard time buying it. What do you think?

ETA: At the very least, the decision had to be about the fear of losing somebody they wanted on tour. There have been other extremely talented casts–I’m thinking Season 5 & 7 & 8, yet those tours were not expanded. Heck, when Season 2 lost both Corey (DQ’d) and Josh Gracin (Marine’s wouldn’t release him), they STILL only toured with 11 contestants.
