American Idol contestant Casey Abrams made it back to his hometown of Idyllwild Friday.
Abrams was voted off American Idol last week. Friday we caught up with him in Idyllwild, where he's now known as somewhat of a hometown hero.
He went back to visit his school, The Idyllwild Arts Academy. When asked how it feels to be home, he said "coming back here it's weird completely unexpected, children going to the same school you went to it's exciting, it's weird."

Abrams was the one singer the judges chose to save from elimination when he was voted off earlier in the season.
In a few weeks when American Idol ends, Abrams along with all the other contestants will be going on tour together. Abrams says he's excited for that.
